Mr. Fred Creighton was Promoted to Glory last night. He went to be with His Lord after many years of faithful following. He was a significant person in my life as a teenager. He was both caring to us as teens, and there were a lot of us, and he was firm. He felt it was important to have standards but knew how to help us understand that without discouraging us. And at times we were a challenge – that’s for sure. He loved us deeply and took the time to help us understand his interest in music and how that served his faith in Jesus.
He not only loved Salvation Army music, but he loved Salvation Army history. Here’s an article of his that was published about the two!
The Salvation Army in Scarborough has lost a significant influence and a pillar of the church. He will be deeply missed by many.
I suppose his passing reminds us all of how we need each generation to step up and serve the next. A missed generation means missed generations!
Will you make a difference?
