The Salvation Army Kettles

Calgary Kettle Kick Off

It’s December.  Officially winter has yet to arrive by the calendar.  But this is Edmonton and winter arrives without any reference to the calendar.

It is also the time of year when Salvation Army Kettles, those red containers, are placed around malls and stores in an effort to raise funds for some of the work that we do.  While the Kettles are out for 6 weeks, the work they support goes on 52 weeks.

I received an email recently from a friend – he’s a retired officer and was a great support to Wendy and I when we were in Erin Mills (Mississauga).  He’s created a blog about being on Kettles.  You will find it here – so he invites us to read and comment if you wish.
