This morning “the guys” are up early watching the news, reading the paper, sipping coffee.  One of the stories on the national news, and highlighted here in the Toronto area, is that winter has arrived in Calgary.  I suspect it isn’t just Calgary!  Here it has been raining all night and the traditional winter sky has settled in.

Winter in southern Ontario is like living under a blanket – dark, grey, damp the sky hides the sun for weeks upon end.  Though it isn’t cold here, no matter what Ontarians think, the dampness and darkness is prevailing.  It is cold – very cold in Alberta, but sunshine brightens the day!  Though minus 40 will always be painful the sunshine is my consolation.
