I’ve been surprised since my blog about Canadian Keswick Conference Centre how many hits I’ve had on that one blog entry. It seems I’m not the only one whose thoughts turn to the idealic setting during the summer months. Truth be told I took one of the canoes out this afternoon, just before supper, and paddled on Pine Lake along the shore line.
There aren’t that many lakes in Alberta, and the few we have are fairly small (except those like Lesser Slave Lake) and frankly they aren’t that clean. Paddling Pine Lake is a bit like paddling a slew…. algae as thick as foam parts as the paddle dips into it.
So as I paddled I thought about Lake Rosseau…beautiful clean, clear, blue Lake Rosseau! It is on the shore of this lake that Keswick sat and it was in those waters I dove and swam and cooled off on a hot day! You won’t see Keswick marked on the map but it was just 1.5 miles from Port Carling.
Here’s a photo from today as I paddled through some grass off shore. Thus we swim in the pool!
