I was headed to Saskatoon and it was getting dark. Part of that were the dark clouds but it was also later in the day. I passed a freight train heading east and realized that just ahead was a great photo opportunity though I only had my iPhone.

I spotted this grain elevator and train siding and thought if I could get the train in the photo it would look pretty good…at any rate, here’s the only photo I could get as the train was moving at a pretty good clip!

Not quite – but close!

The train needs to be crisper…but a few adjustments gets us to this.

Here’s the thing – the prairies are a great place for photography though this is NOT the best illustration. The flocks of birds, the golden grain, the huge blue skies, the buildings of another generation still standing – lots of good subjects.
