The past four days I have been in Edmonton for the final hearings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.  I will be several weeks processing the experience as I sat and listened to many, many individuals recount their experience in our residential schools.  I say our because it was the white man who designed and executed a system that attacked the lives, culture and families of aboriginal people.

I really don’t want to recount here what I heard but I would encourage you to get educated about this very dark part of Canadian history.

If you believe that what you see in other countries couldn’t  happen here then you need to understand how it has already happened.
